"Marilla's/Marillo's Lesson" is a shape-note hymn (see Annotation:Murillo's Lesson for more. Herbert Halpert recorded the hymn in 1939 in Meridian, Mississippi, from the singing of the congregation of the New Hope Baptist Church.
