MARQUIS OF GRANBY'S DELIGHT, THE. Scottish, Country Dance Tune (2/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). The melody appears in the (James) Gillespie Manuscript of Perth (1768). The "Marquis of Granby's Delight" also appears in the 1775 music manuscript copybook of fifer William Williams (Pautuxit, R.I.), and the 1795-c. 1815)commonplace book of musician Luther Kingsley (Mansfield, Conn.).
