MARY JESSIE GILLIS [1]. Canadian, March (2/4 time). Canada, Cape Breton. A Major. ADae tuning (fiddle). Composed by fiddler, composer, editor and publisher Paul Stewart Cranford--who has also been a been a lighthouse keeper. Originally composed in the key of G Major. Mary Jessie Gillis was originally from Inverness, Cape Breton, and studied piano with Maybelle Chisholm MacQueen. She was fiddler Jerry Holland's accompanist for some years.
