MEASON'S OF YORK. AKA - "Cutting of the Sticks." Scottish, Jig. F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The tune was included by Kirkmichael, Perthshire, fiddler Robert Petrie in his 2nd Collection of Strathspey Reels and Country Dances (1796), where its provenance is given as "Irish". 'Meason's' = Masons (?)
