KENION CLOG. American, Clog. USA, Ohio. Recorded by fiddler John Baltzell in New York on April 10, 1928. Paul Gifford finds this tune to be a version of Ed Hayley's (eastern Kentucky/W.Va.) tune "Parkersburg Landing" which is in the "Rustic Dance" family of tunes (see note for "Rustic Dance--Scottische (3)" for range of titles). Baltzell apparently named the tune after nearby Kenyon College, Gambier, Ohio, near his home town.
