MRS. ROSS'S REEL. AKA and see "Mrs. Colonel Gordon of Leitchieston’s Reel." Scottish, Reel. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB'. Composed by William Marshall (1748-1833), first appearing in print in his 1781 collection (p. 4). Mrs. Ross was the wife of the Secretary/factor at Gordon Castle (see also “Miss Agnes Ross’s Reel,” written for her daughter). Marshall retitled the piece as "Mrs. Colonel Gordon of Leitchieston’s Reel" for his 1822 collection.
