OLD HOME WALTZ (Mon Vieux Home). Cajun, Waltz. USA, southwestern Louisiana. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). One part. See also Aldus Roger's related tune, "Lafayette Playboy's Waltz." The original was by singer and steel guitarist Shirley Bergeron (1933-1995), always accompanied by his father Alphee on accordion. The pair recorded through the 1950's and 1960's. The song has been covered by a number of Cajun musicians, including the Savoy Family Cajun Band.
