BANKS OF THE SHANNON [1], THE. Irish, Slow Air (3/8 time). G Major (Bunting, O'Neill): A Major (Stanford/Petrie): E Flat Major (Clinton). Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (O'Neill): ABB (Bunting, Stanford/Petrie). O'Neill's and Hughes' versions are very close to that printed in 1796 by Belfast collector Edward Bunting; Clinton's version is a setting for the flute.
