WALKING IN A COUNTRY TOWN. English, Ballad Air (4/4 time). D Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The air appears in Thomas Robinson's [1] lute tutor Schoole of Musicke (1603). Robinson (c. 1560 – 1610) was an English renaissance composer and music teacher, who flourished around 1600. He taught and wrote music for lute, cittern, orpharion, bandora, viol, and singing.
