FAIRE! FAIRE! AR AGHAIDH! AR AGHAIDH! (Watch! Watch! Forward! Forward!). AKA - "Pharroh or War March (The)." AKA and see "Huggerth the Puss." Irish, Air (6/8 time). F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCCD. A variant of the tune is in Breathnach's Ceol Rince na hEireann (No. 12) as "Port Liadroma." Bunting also called the tune "Yellow Wattle, 2nd set" in his MS. The jig “Gold Ring (1) (The)” is said to have been fashioned from this melody, which consists of nine parts or strains.

Source for notated version: the Irish collector Edward Bunting obtained the melody from another collector, George Petrie, in 1835 [Bunting].

Printed sources: Bunting (Ancient Music of Ireland), 1840. O'Sullivan/Bunting, 1983; No. 143, p. 200.
