PLANXTY CONNACHT. AKA – “Planks of Connaught.” AKA and see "John O'Connor." Irish, Air (6/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABCDE. The tune is Turlough O'Carolan's (1670-1738) air for patron John O'Connor. "Planxty Connacht" is a miss-hearing of the title "Planxty Connor." A further miss-hearing, of "Planxty Connacht" is Burke Thumoth's rather absurd "Planks of Connaught." See "John O'Connor" for more.
