LUCKIE BAWDINS'. AKA - "Lucky Bawdins'," "Luckie Bawdrons." Scottish, Reel. B Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The notice "Copyright" appears with the tune in Manson's Hamilton's Universal Tune Book (1854), although there is no author attribution. However the notice of copyright would indicate the tune was relatively recently composed. According to the Dictionary of the Scots Language, "Baudrons, Bawdrons, Badrans, Badrins, Badrons, Bauthorn, Bauldrins, is an affectionate name for a cat. In some districts, e.g. Banff, the term, like Eng. puss, is applied to the hare as well."
