NEW BRIDGE OF CRATHIE, THE. Scottish, Pipe Jig (6/8 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB'. An iron bridge spanning the River Dee was constructed in 1857 at Balmoral Castle/Crathie, by Ballater, Royal Deeside, in Aberdeenshire. The designer and engineer for the structure was Isambard Kingdom Brunel (for whom more information can be seen at "annotation:Great Eastern Reel (1)").
