O'NEILL'S MARCH [2] (Máirseáil Ui Neill). AKA and see "Barrack Hill (1)," "Green Cockade (3) (The)," "Haughs of Cromdale (The)," "Tralee Gaol." Irish, March (2/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody is similar to (and perhaps derived from) the Scottish "Haughs of Cromdale (The). See also the 6/8 setting "Barrack Hill (1)." The "O'Neill's March" title for the tune stems from its being paired in a medley with "O'Neill's March (1)"/"O'Neill's Cavalcade" by biography:Sean O Riada on his 1969 Gael Linn LP "O Riada sa Gaiety," on a cut that was called "Marcshlua Uí Néill (O'Neill's Cavalry March)."
