NEW YEAR'S NIGHT. Irish, Reel. A Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'B. The melody belongs to the "Reel of Bogie (1) (The)" family of tunes. See also the related "Style of Ballylanders." O'Neill (1922) remarks: "This reel memorized probably from "Barney" Delaney's wonderful piping seems to have been omitted from former O'Neill collections."

Bernard Delaney, born near Tullamore, County Offaly (?-1923)
