SURROUND, THE. Irish, Hop Jig (9/8 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody was entered into the large mid-19th century music manuscript of Canon James Goodman, County Cork, with the note "Old Jig". The second strain is very similar to the Leitrim hop jig “Do it Fair.”
