MISS THOMSON OF LECKYBANK'S STRATHSPEY. Scottish, Strathspey. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Composed by Borders fiddler-composer biography:John Pringle (c. 1770-c. 1807) in honor of Janet, the only daughter of Oliver Thomson of Leckybank, County Fife. In 1808 Janet married Andrew Murray Esq. of Murrayshall, County Perth, an advocate of the Scottish bar who became sheriff of Aberdeenshire in 1822.
