LONE BUSH [1], THE. Irish, Hornpipe. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB'. Composed by County Cavan/Philadelphia fiddler and composer Ed Reavy (1898-1988). The tune is named for the solitary surviving bush which grew outside the family farmhouse in Cavan where Reavy was raised. "The Lone Bush" was one of the tune selections of a young Liz Carroll (Chicago) when she won the Junior All Ireland fiddle competition.
