GREENFIELDS OF AMERICA [2], THE. American, Reel. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB. There are American 'old-time' variants of the Irish reel "Greenfields of America (1)", by Indian fiddler Lotus Dickey, and by William Alonzo "Lonnie" Corsbie of Guilford County, North Carolina. Lotus Dickey's version begins on an E Minor chord.

Source for notated version: Lotus Dickey (b. 1911, Indiana) [Phillips]. Probably learned from a music book. Dickey and his brother Cyprion enjoyed picking up good tunes from printed music, adapting them to their style.

Printed sources: Phillips (Traditional American Fiddle Tunes, vol. 1), 1994; p. 105.

Recorded sources: Library of Congress AFS 12,037, Lonnie Corsbie (1967. Recorded by Alan Jabbour).
