JOHNSTON'S HORNPIPE. AKA and see "Brown Paper Hornpipe," "Johnson's Reel (3)." Scottish (?), Hornpipe (whole time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. See also the closely related "Ivy Leaf Reel (1)," and "Smoky Chimney (The)." The provenance has yet to be determined. The tune, as "Johnson's Reel (3)" in the American published Coes Album of Jigs and Reels (1876) has a prior claim.
