AKA and see "Bundle of Straw (The)," "Connaught Heifers (The)," "Corry Boys (The)," "Follow Me to Carlow, Hare's Foot (The)," "Jim Kennedy's Favorite," "Low Park," "Lowlands of Scotland (The)," "Silvermines (1) (The)," "Tralee Lasses (The)." Irish, Reel. E Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (Breathnach, Harker/Rafferty), Moylan, Mulvihill): AAB (Kerr, Tolman): AABB' (Carlin). Paddy Ryan (Treoir) calls the tune a "céilí band favourite." O'Neill prints versions as "Hare's Foot (The)," "Jim Kennedy's Favorite" (the shortened title "Kennedy's Favourite" also appears to be a variant) and "Lowlands of Scotland (The)." Joyce prints the tune as "Silvermines (1) (The)." A variant called "Billy in the Lowlands (2)," was printed by Peter Kennedy. Fr. John Quinn and Conor Ward find a version of "Hare's Paw" as an untitled reel in Book 2 (No. 275) of the large c. 1883 music manuscript collection of County Leitrim fiddler and piper biography:Stephen Grier (c. 1824-1894).
