GENERAL STUART'S REEL. AKA and see "Stewart's Rant," "New Way of Gil Don (The)," "Drummond's Rant." Scottish, Reel. The melody is called "Stewart's Rant" to which the dance 'General Stuart's Reel' is done. The dance figure appears under the above title (subtitled "The new Way of Gil Don") in the Menzies Manuscript, 1749, contained in the Atholl Collection of the Sandeman Library, Perth.
