GIGUE CANADIENNE [1] (Canadian Jig). French-Canadian, Reel. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. The melody was originally recorded by Joseph Allard [1] [2], in 1928, in which he used a Stroh violin, for additional volume. The melody is reminiscent of a Michael Coleman hornpipe.

Source for notated version: Jospeh Allard [Carlin, Cuillerier].

Printed sources: Carlin (Master Collection of Dance Music for the Violin), 1984; No. 83, p. 54. Cuillerier (Joseph Allard), 1992; p. 7.

Recorded sources: Victor 263522-b (78 RPM), Joseph Allard (1928).
