GROGAN'S HORNPIPE. AKA "Dermot Grogan's Hornpipe." Irish, Hornpipe. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Dermot Grogan of the alternate title is/was an accordion player and "tunnel man" living in London. Accordion player Mary Staunton plays the tune in four parts, from the playing of Kilkelly, County Mayo, accordion player Des Grogan. She says: "Des often played the accordion with many of the best of Co. Mayo's musicians in Jack Halpin's pub in Ballyhaunis and I have fond memories of the many great sessions there during the 1980s."
