IRISH RAGG. AKA and see "Around the House," "Merrily Kissed the Quaker--New Set." Irish, Jig. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). The melody, which is still part of the living tradition, appears in Burke Thumoth's collection of c. 1750 and Brysson's A Curious Selection of Favourite Tunes with Variations to which is appended "Fifty Favourite Irish Airs" (Edinburgh, 1790).
