JENNIE BANG THE WEAVER. AKA and see "Jenny Dang the Weaver (1)." A variant title spelling of the tune usually known as "Jenny Dang the Weaver." It appears as "Jenny Bang..." in London publisher John Johnson's Wright's Compleat Collection of Celebrated Country Dances, vol.2 (1742), with the alternate title "Musselbourough," and in the music manuscript collections of Walter Rainstorp (Cheapside, London, 1747), Thomas Hammersley (London, 1790), and John Fife (1780, Perthshire and perhaps at sea).
