EIGHTH OF DECEMBER, THE. Scottish, Strathspey. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The melody was composed by Miss Baird of Soughton Hall, who herself had two tunes composed for her (see "Miss Baird of Saughton Hall (1)").
