FUMANT MA PIPE, EN (While smoking my pipe). French-Canadian, Air or Reel. A Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB'. The melody sounds like a variant of the Irish "Battle of Aughrim (1)]." Pascal Gemme says the tune is played in Montreal sessions, and is "very popular...among people who have been playing for less than 10 years." The tune is an adaptation by violinist and music teacher Jean Cousineau, and appears in the 1962 film "Pour la suite du monde", for which he helped compose the music.
