KILCUMMIN SLIDE, THE. Irish, Slide (12/8 time). Ireland, Sliabh Luachra region of the Cork-Kerry border. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB. Source O'Leary stated: "I'd say it is from Kilcummin (Co. Kerry) it came. The most of the slides and polkas come from there. That's the strange thing." See also the Pennsylvannia-collected quadrille (jig) tune "Allegheny County", which is quite close in the first strain.
