DAY AFTER THE FAIR [2], THE (An La i ndiaidh an Aonaigh). AKA and see "All Alive (2)," "Billy Barlow," "Wheels of the World (2) (The)," "His Home and His Country," "I Know Not Whether to Laugh or Cry," "I Would Not Give My Irish Wife," "You're Welcome to Waterford," "Seanghe Liath (An)." Irish, Double Jig. E Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Very similar to version #1. This tune has been called a simplified variant of "Lumps of Pudding." Breathnach (1963) thinks the tune "Old Grey Goose (The)" was based on "Day after..."

Source for notated version: fiddler John Kelly/Seán O'Kelly (Ireland) [Breathnach]; James O'Neill [O'Neill].

Printed sources: Breathnach (CRÉ I), 1963; No. 53, p. 21. O'Neill (Music of Ireland), 1903; No. 868.
