BATTLE OF GARVAGH. AKA and see "Lass of Gowrie [1]." Irish. A sectarian Orange tune in the manuscripts of Antrim fifer Jock Lecky, dating from the 1930's or 1940's. According to Gary Hastings, the area around Ahoghill and Cullybackey, County Antrim, was one of the last remaining areas where the old style of fifing and Lambegs (large goatskin marching drums) was still extent. Some of the present fifers had learned from Lecky.
