MRS. ADIE. AKA - "Mrs. Adye." Scottish, Strathspey. B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (Cole, Surenne): AAB (Athole, Gow, Skye). Composed by Major William Logan, of a line of William Logan’s of Ayrshire. The Major was a well-known gentleman in Ayrshire and a highly esteemed convivial companion. He was skilled on the violin and was, it is said, an intimate of Niel Gow and Robert Burns. See “Major Logan’s Frolic” for more on him.
