UP AND AWAY [1]. AKA and see “Killoran’s Polka (2),” “Mary Girl," "McKenna's Polka," "Merry Girl." Irish, Polka. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. An influential 78 RPM recording of the tune was made by flute player John McKenna (1880-1947), originally from County Leitrim. This is the second tune in McKenna’s set, following “Up and Away (3),” and is usually known by the title “Mary Girl,” although by association in the medley, the name “Up and Away” is also used.
