CADY LADDIE. AKA - "Cady Laddy." AKA and see "Mount Your Baggage." Scottish, Triple Hornpipe (3/2 time). The tune appears with dance instructions in Walsh's Caledonian Country Dances, vol. 2 (London, 1737), Johnson's Choice Collection of 200 Favourite Country Dances, vol. 3 (London, 1744, as "Cady Laddy, The New Way"), and again in Walsh's volume 6 (and last) of The Compleat Country Dancing Master series (London, 1754). "Cady Laddie" also appears in the 1790 music manuscript collection of London musician Thomas Hammersley. See also versions under the title "Mount Your Baggage [2]" (or "Mount My Baggage") and the Gow's derivative melody "Dalry House."
