SPORTING DAYS OF EASTER [4], THE. Irish, Reel (whole time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The reel appears in the large mid-19th century music manuscript collection of County Cork cleric and uilleann piper Canon biography:James Goodman. The first strain tonality is indeterminate, with a resolution to 'D' at the cadence and then strongly in the second strain. Goodman researchers Hugh and Lisa Shield identify the second strain as shared with "All Round the Room" from the Stephen Grier (County Leitrim, 1883) music manuscript collection (printed in Breathnach & Small, CRE 4, No. 106), and with the first strain of Goodman's own "Fanny" (vol. 4, p. 79)
