MARCH OF THE CLAN SUIBHNE. Irish, March. Ireland, County Donegal. A clan march collected in 1903 by Padraig Mac Aodh O'Neill from the playing of Fanad, Donegal, fiddler Seaghan Mac Giolla Carr, who was over eighty years of age at the time. Mac Aodh O'Neill published it in his Songs of Uladh. Caoimhin Mac Aoidh (1994) states it is clearly in pipe style and believes this dates the Donegal fiddle tradition of imitating pipe music to the mid-1800's, at least.
