GREEN SHADES OF GASK, THE. Scottish, Jig. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The celebrated lyricist ("The Laird o' Cockpen") Lady Nairne, Carolina Oliphant (1766-1845) was born and died at Gask, Scotland in central Perth and Kinross. Gask was a community that built up around a manor, Gask House, located on a ridge. There was a Roman road along the crest of the ridge that linked signal stations, and the remains of a large Roman camp are situated near Gask House.
