POYNTIN’S WHIM. English, Country Dance Tune (4/4 time). F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody appears in Lonson publisher John Walsh’s third collection of Lancashire tunes (Lancashire Jiggs, Hornpipes, Joaks, etc.) published in 1743.
