Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Fiddler Arthur-Joseph (A.J.) Boulay recorded the tune in Montreal in December, 1928, released by Victor Records the following March. The recording features figures called in English by an uncredited dance caller. The tune, however, was first printed in Ryan's Mammoth Collection (Boston, 1883) under the title "Rolling off a Log (1)."
