A Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Saddle the Pony (2)" is a member of a large tune family set in the key of A mixolydian that has many variants and alternate titles. It is also closely related to another family of jigs, set in 'D' major, but sharing many of the same variants. This second tune family also includes "Paddy Clancy's," “Coleman's Favourite,” “Night of the Wedding (The),” “O'Mahoney's Jig,” among others.
