KATE KELLY'S FANCY (Roga Cait-m Ceallaig). AKA and see "Ho! Awake," "gCeirtlin Snaithe in Aimhreidh," "Killoran's Reel (2)," "O'Keeffe's Reel (1)," "Private Ass and Cart," "Twin Katy's." Irish, Reel. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Breathnach (1976) finds the first part of "Doon Reel (1) (The)" related to this tune and "Nellie Donovan," and to "Ravelled Hank of Yarn (1) (The)." Both parts of "Kate Kelly's" correspond enough to be called cognate with an untitled reel inBook 2 of the large c. 1883 music manuscript collection of County Leitrim fiddler and piper biography:Stephen Grier (c. 1824-1894), for which see "Reel (98)."
