PADDY THE PIPER [4]. AKA and see "Lord Cathcart." Irish, Jig. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Kerr declares the tune's provenance to be "Irish," but there is little of Irish character in it. In fact, the tune is an early 19th century English country dance tune called "Lord Cathcart" or "Lord Cathcart's Favorite."
