EAST KILBRIDE. Scottish, Strathspey. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB'. Composition credited to A.M. Volti by Kerr, presumably a relative or perhaps another pseudonyn for biography:Carl Volti (Glasgow-born Archibald Milligan, 1848-1919) who contributed a number of melodies to the Kerr collections. "A. Maurice Volti" is listed as a violin teacher working with Carl Volti at the same Glasgow address, but whether a son or brother (or the same person!) is not known. The names, however, are pseudonyms, for their real last name was Milligan, and they were Scottish by birth. The 'Volti' name was adopted as a professional affectation.
