HORNSBY'S MARCH. AKA and see "Bologna’s March," "Favorite Slow March (A)." English, March (4/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Gibbon's originally set the tune in the key of 'C' major. The melody appears in the 1840 music manuscript collection of John Rook (Waverton, Cumbria) as "Favorite Slow March (A)," and in James Aird and John Watlen's late 18th century publications as "Bologna’s March."
