Compare "Pigeon on the Gatepost" [1] and [2], both collected from Prince Edward Island fiddlers, though sixty years apart. Ken Perlman (1995) notes it is a reel widely played on P.E.I., often referred to as one of the "good old tunes." “The Twin Sisters,” “Jack Tar,” and “The Sturgeon Tea” are alternate PEI titles.
