HEWITSON'S HORNPIPE. English, American; Hornpipe (cut time). F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Hewitson's Hornpipe" was one of the tunes entered into the large music manuscript collection of Lake District musician William Irwin, c. 1850. Irwin identifies it as a composition of "S.W." of Wigton, Cumbria.
