"Chatham Reel" is from the repertoire of Acadian fiddler Fidel Martin (1891-1976), of Berlin, New Hampshire, originally from Rogersville, New Brunswick. Martin was recorded in the field by Art Rosenbaum in the mid-1960's, but never made any commercial recordings. He had a varied repertory that included Acadian, Down East, Irish, and American tunes.
