LINK HIM DOD(D)IE [1]. Scottish, Strathspey. A Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. 'Link' means to dance or skip. The melody appears (as "Linkem Dodie") in the Gillespie Manuscript of Perth (1768). John Glen (Early Scottish Melodies, notes for No. 376 of the Scots Musical Museum) finds an earlier appearance of the tune under the title "Blue Britches."
