MISS FORBES. AKA and see “Miss Horgan's.” Scottish, Reel. C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (Gow, Surenne): AAB (Athole): AABB' (Kerr). Attributed to “D.D.” (Daniel Dow?) by Gow in the 4th Collection. The name Forbes is derived from the Gaelic term forb-ais, meaning ‘at the land’. The clan’s original holdings were in Aberdeenshire, on the banks of the river Don.
