McFARLEY'S (Ríl Mhic Fhearghaile). AKA and see "Falls of Ballisodare (The)," "Maids of Castlebar (The)." Irish, Reel. Ireland, Donegal. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The title "McFarley's" is what Donegal fiddler John Doherty called this tune, a northern Ireland version of "Maids of Castlebar (The)," a variant of the well-known reel "Maid Behind the Bar (1) (The)." It is a popular reel in County Donegal, recorded by several fiddlers from that region.
